He was predeceased by: his brother Nick; his grandparents, Donald Zanden, Dolores Vander Zanden, Merlin Janssen and Joyce Janssen; and also Ally.
He is survived by: his son Charlie Somers; his parents, David Zanden and Cynthia Vander Zanden; his sisters, Becky Montour, Kelly Rathsack (Spenser) and Jayda Vander Zanden; and his uncles, Deb Sprangers (Greg), Donna Stratton (Don), Barb Kelderman (John), Lynn Van Zeeland (Mark), Randy Vander Zanden (Basia), Patti Canan (Steve), Linda Vanevenhoven (Jerry), Jim Janssen, Mike Janssen (Tammy) and Anne Reschke (Randy). He is also survived by numerous cousins, friends, and relatives.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested the donations be directed to the Nicholas and Michael Vander Zanden Memorial Fund.
