Bates of Hortonville, Wisconsin, born in Madison, Wisconsin, who passed away on September 14, 2020, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilfred Bartlett, Sr. and Mary Frances Bates (Bartlett); and his former wife Ruth Rinke. He is survived by: his wife Carole; and his children, John, Jr. (Ana) of Germantown, TN, Rebecca Hewitt (Tom) of Phoenix, AZ, Stephan (Barbara) of Golden, CO and Betsy McCarthy (Duane Woik) of Portland, OR. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; many other dear family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in John's memory to the Salvation Army, 130 East North St. Appleton, WI 54911.
