He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Thern and Evelyn Thern (Lemke); his wife Sandra Neubauer; and his siblings, Harland Thern (LaJoy), Howard Thern (Carol), John Thern (Helen), Dorothy Engel (John) and Joyce Thern.
He is survived by: his sons, Craig Thern (Diana) and Lance Thern (Ann); his grandchildren, Garret, Bryce, Marisa and Erik; his great grandchild Ella; and his close friends, Curt, Vicki Sprenger, Dick and Mary Rodgers. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
