She was predeceased by: her parents, George Lippert and Edna Lippert (Nussbaum); her husband Alvin Steinberg; her grandson Gregg Deimer; her sons-in-law, Timothy Loescher and Glen Schwark; and her siblings, Elaine Kohl, Agnes Kohl, Helen Besaw, Kenneth and Roy Lippert.

She is survived by: her children, Bev Deimer (Gary) of Marion, IA, Carla Schwark and David Steinberg; her grandchildren, Michele Brooks (Daniel) of Renton, WA, Adam Steinberg and Amanda Steinberg (Matt Mathiebe); her granddaughter-in-law Trish-Deimer-Steineke; her great grandchildren, Morgen, Maren and Stella Brooks of Renton, WA; her sister Betty Boyle; and her siblings-in-law, Dorla Marcks, Dawn Steinberg, Laverne Steinberg (Barbara) and Dennis Steinberg (Carol). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Ethel's name.
