He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Nelson and Hazel Nelson (Paulson); his children, James "Jim" Nelson and Diane Nelson; and his brother Arnold Nelson.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Vivian; his sons, Allan Nelson (Sandra) of Barneveld, Duane "Dewey" Nelson of Kaufman, TX and Steven "Oscar" Nelson of South Wayne; his grandson James Tyler Nelson; and his siblings, Linda Walbeck, Laurette McMahan, Otis Nelson (Terry), Darlene Cober (Greg) and Karen Strycharske (Jim).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Upland Hills Hospice or Perry Lutheran Church.
