He was predeceased by: his parents, Bert Skaar and Borghild Skaar (Dahl); his children-in-law, Marcia Skaar and James P. Kniseley; his grandson Justin Waldera; and his brothers-in-law, Donald Crogan and Kenny Berg.
He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Hanson; his children, Stewart (Lori Walsh), Shawn Kniseley (Tom Holven) of Mindoro, Shelley Waldera (Jerome) of Hudson and Steve Skaar of Denver, CO; his grandchildren, Joel Skaar, Jesse Skaar, Bjorn Helgeson (Tina), Siri Helgeson, Lars Helgeson and Jeryn Waldera; and his siblings, Bernice Crogan, Vic Skaar (Rejtie), Beatrice Berg, Daryl Skaar (Nancy), Gary Skaar, Enid Bahnub (Jeff) and Ed Skor (Renate).
