She was predeceased by: her former spouse Archie "Doc" P. Pearson; her stepfather Frank Leatherberry; her siblings, Lyle (Bonnie Greenwood), Kenneth (Elsie Greenwood), Virgil (Josephine Greenwood), George (Juanita Greenwood), Russell (Donna Greenwood), Aurrin Greenwood, Doris (Edgar Furhman), Dorothy (Robert Thayer) and Audrey (Donald "Pat" Pearson); her siblings-in-law, Ruth, Gale Krug, Percy, Mida Pearson and Marvin Korth; and her grandchildren, Paul Schneller and Jane Pearson.
She is survived by: her children, John Pearson (Janis), Nancy Cohen (Michael), Susan Hahn (Douglas), Janet Grman (Michael) and Jean Schneller (Ronald); and her spouse Helmer L. Peterson. She is also survived by her 5 children; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her husband Helmer's 6 children and spouses; 27 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Shirley would prefer memorials be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
