He was predeceased by: his parents, James Johnson and Jeanice Johnson (Scott); his stepfather Carl Hummer; and his siblings, Velma Mulligan, Vicki Faber, Jean Johnson and James Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Johnson (Garthwaite); his children, Sandra Derka (John), Shane Garthwaite and Anthony Garthwaite (Jody); his grandchildren, Kayla, Raven, Julie, Alex, Ben and Justin; and his siblings, Clara Schuman, Marilyn Wolf, Daniel Johnson, Judith Warren, Scott Johnson and Alice Legg.
