He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony Schaffer and Eulalia Schaffer (Freund); his wife Susie; his parents-in-law, John Schuh and Margaret Schuh (Braun); his brothers, Ermie and Clayton; his brother-in-law Sy See; and also Gina.
He is survived by: his children, John Jr., Mary Klimesh, Glen (Julie), Alan (Michelle), Jill Gehl (Bob) and Jodi Schaffer; his grandchildren, Ashley Goddard (Travis), Alex Klimesh, Lexie Schaffer, Bryse Schaffer, Christine Lintner (Justin), Alaina, Austin, Avery Schaffer, Katie, Erica, April Gehl, Heather Brickham, Tyler Brickham and Ridge Guyette; his great grandchildren, Lillian, Olivia, Lucas Goddard and Weston Brickham; his siblings, Cliff (Viola), Judy See and Andy (Nancy); and his sister-in-law Diane. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other in-laws, and friends.
