He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Birr and Ella Birr (Spars); his wife Elsie Birr; and his siblings, Marion and Clarence.
He is survived by: his children, David Birr (Roseanne) of Mayville and Beth Zastrow (Daniel) of Watertown; his grandchildren, Eric Birr (Becky), Anthony Birr (Johanna) and Branden Zastrow; and his great grandchildren, Gavin and Madison Birr. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be directed to Rainbow Hospice, St. Paul's Church in Mayville or the American Legion Post #69 in Mayville.
