She was predeceased by: her parents, Anton Riek and Imelda Riek (Kuhl); her husband Phillip R. Symons; her daughter Laurie Runde; and her sister Mary "Midge" Stertle.

She is survived by: her children, Julie Symons of Cape Coral, FL, Stephen Symons (Diana) and Hazel Green; and her close friend Richard "Dick" Bodell (Hazel Green). She is also survived by eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
