He was predeceased by: his parents, Kathryn Derick (Gunn) and Clark K. Derick; his brother Thomas Derick; his aunt Esther Biesen; his uncle Paul Gunn; and his grandsons, Teddy Derick and Billy Derick.
He is survived by: his wife Millie; his children, Kathy and Ken (Jessie); his grandchildren, Brandon Derick (Nina), Nate Derick (Allison), Kevin Derick (Abby), Kathryn Rich (Nick), Randi Derick (Wally Soyring) and Kaiti Magdzas (Ryan); and his great grandchildren, Trevor, Caylee, Daemon, Harper, Greysin, Addi, Tyler, Josh, Kayden and Kali.
