He is survived by: his wife Ellen; his children, Lauren and Dane (Amanda Misasi); his granddaughter Evelyn; his sisters, Judy Zastrow (Jim) and Julie See (Jeff); his sisters-in-law, Gail O'Sadnick and Amy Hotchkiss; his nieces and nephews, Ashley, Jocelyn, Thomas, Alison, James and Anthony; and his pets, Martin and Lewis.

“I was so sorry to learn this morning of Rick's passing last Friday. Rick and I were good friends throughout Junior High and at South High ... we lost touch after that. Rick had a great sense of humor and was a really good guy. I tried to get in touch with him a couple of years ago regarding our high school 50th reunion, but never was able to speak with him. My deepest condolences to Rick's family. Rick's at peace now with his brother, Gary.”
