He is survived by: his wife Barbara Ann Nelson (Jung); his children, James Robert "Rob" Nelson II, Heather, Kristen, Nicolette, Josef, Wayne Michael Nelson, John David Nelson (Autumn), Benjamin Joseph Nelson (Kristin), Amy Elizabeth Franczak (Fred) and Andrew Shepherd Nelson; his siblings, David Charles Nelson (Judy), Kathryn Elizabeth Farmer (Terrance), Roberta Ann Fullington (Steven), Christine Marie Vause (Michael), Nancy Elaine Alstad (Michael) and Kenneth Arthur Nelson (Susan); his brother-in-law John Jung Jr.; and his cousins, Cecilia Farran, John Geason and Janet Niles. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and other in-laws.
