She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Harold Ney and Lavinia Ney; her husband David L. Bussewitz; her son Brian D. Bussewitz (Anna); and her grandsons, Gus and Sam Bussewitz.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the American Heart Association in the name of Harriet Bussewitz.
