He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin Brand and Gladys Brand. He is survived by: his wife Jean Brand; and his children, Linda Beierle (John), Robert Brand Sr. (Mary), Scott Brand, Gina Gerls (Marv), Donald Gierach (Caroline), Michael Gierach (Lillian), Thomas Gierach (Jayne) and James Gierach (Joleene). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
