He was predeceased by: his parents, Catherine Dais and Peter Dais; his siblings, Joseph "Harley" Dais, Rose Marx, Ardelle Zurn, Clarice Bleifus and Corrine Dais; and his parents-in-law, Nancy Henke, Joan Walsh (Tom), Keith "Butch" Jones, James, Lyanne Collins and John Collins.

He is survived by: his wife Lilybeth "Lil" Collins; his children, John Dais of Fond, Lisa Roeseler (Dale) of Fond, Lac and Brian Dais of Phoenix Arizona; his grandchildren, Michael, Kyle Dais (Courtney), Holly Hackbarth (Adam) and Ashley Winkler (Cameron); his great grandchildren, Austin, Emily, Declan and Ella; his brothers, Harold Dais (Cecilia) and David Dais; and his siblings-in-law, Janet (Sam Wasley), Judy, Frank Guntly, Diane Kopp (Earl), Maryann Collins, Darlene Collins and Evarist Henke. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
