He is survived by: his wife Ruth; his children, Scott Kaphingst (Linda), Heidi Ernst (Steven), Lynn Wampler (Dan), David Kaphingst (Terry) and Peter Kaphingst (Catherine); his grandchildren, Jennifer Strasser (Jeremi), Ashley Kaphingst, Stephanie Villareal (José), Matthew Ernst (Danielle), Melissa Adamany (Tim), Lindsay Ernst, Adam Ernst, Ryan Wampler (Brenna), Paul Wampler (Rachel), Marc Wampler, Grant Kaphingst and Hannah Kaphingst; his brother Jerome Kaphingst (Ruth); and his sister-in-law Hilde Magnuson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
