He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Paige and Pauline Paige; his children, Jessie Vettel (John), Jan Riofrio, Mark Paige (Eryn) and Calvin Akin (Sara); his daughter-in-law Maria Belen Tamayo; his grandchildren, Kurt, Ryan Vettel, Antonio Riofrio (Daniela), Weston, Georgia Paige, Olivia, Grace Akin, Marianna Wang (John), Juan Tamayo (Lina) and Thomas I. Tamayo (Maria Laura); and his son Thomas. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

“He will always be Mr. Akin to me. He was my high school physics teacher and I have always thought of him as the best teacher I ever had (that includes many teachers thru a masters degree). He made a difficult subject understandable by using real world examples and experiments. The thing I remember most is how he related to students on a personal level. He obviously loved teaching. Many times in the past I have often said “anything I needed to know I learned from Mr Akin” Kent Ehley”
