He was predeceased by: his father Walter Hess; and his brother John Edgerton (late Deanna). He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his children, Terry Ann Jacobs (Stephen) and Sue Ann (Michael); his grandchildren, Christopher, Noelle Gates and Jakob; his grandmother Gretchen; his great grandchildren, Weston and Ellie Amundson; and his siblings, Phillip Hess (Rose) and Sandra Dietz. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the family to be dispersed according to Murt's wishes including Peace Lutheran Church / School.
