He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Konkel and Ruby Konkel (Wenzlick); his children, Robert, Scott (Lori), David, Kristine Dettmering (Scott), MaryLou Stampfl, Steven Indermuehle and Stacy Holland; his siblings, Carol Miller, Sandra Andersen (Carsten), Jerome and Michael (Danielle); his former wife Birna; his wife Patricia; and his son Larry Indermuehle. He was also cherished by grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight.
