She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Raether and Marie Raether; her husband Arthur L. Backhaus; her parents-in-law, Edith and Howard; and her brother Lester Raether (Ruth).
She is survived by: her mother-in-law Cindy Backhaus; her grandchildren, Michael Welch (Margaret), Mark Welch (Nicole), Joseph Backhaus (Becky) and Jessie Backhaus; her great grandchildren, Ethan, Hanna Welch, Cassidy and Kolten Backhaus; her siblings, Fritz Raether (late Alice), Joyce Wendegatz (Delmar) and Donna Wilson (Miles); and her sister-in-law Betty Raether (late Ralph). She is also survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials to Good Shepherd Church are appreciated.
