He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman and Margaret; and his sister Marge Schultz. He is survived by: his spouse Chris; his children, Eric, Carol DePratt (Andrew), Wes Hanson (Susan), Jenna Hanson and Lisa Mews (Jon); his grandchildren, Samantha, Max, Tyler, Jake, Hailey, Joe, David, Aiden, Cole and James; his great grandchild Hunter; his sister Marie Oakeson (John); and his brother-in-law Don Schultz.
