He was predeceased by: his children, Brenda Lee Schickert Tessmer and David Schickert; his parents, Clarence Schickert and Gertrude Schickert; his siblings, Henry, Donnie, Mathias "Mathew" and Donald Schickert; and his sisters-in-law, Ann, Catherine and Alice Schickert.

He is survived by: his children, James Henry Schickert and Phyllis Ann Schickert; and his siblings, Andy (Lilly), Leo, Larry Schickert (Toni) and Mary Beine (Ralph). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
