Jack L Craggs Obituary
Jack L. Craggs, age 88, of Harshaw died on July 8, at Rennes Healthcare in Rhinelander after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Jack was born August 2, 1932 in Brainerd, Minnesota to Howard L. Craggs and Elsie (Ringler) Craggs. He graduated from Brainerd High school in 1950 and from the University Of Minnesota in 1955 with a BS in Electrical Engineering.
He became a Registered Engineer in both Wisconsin and Florida. He worked the majority of his career for Allis Chalmers, which was later acquired by the Siemens Corporation. His work resulted in numerous patents and improved designs. Jack's knack for problem solving served him well at work and benefited family and friends in all manner of projects and activities.
His love of the outdoors was shared with many and his legacy of hunting, fishing and traveling continues among family and friends inspired by his passions. Jack and Sharron married April 18, 1959. Before retiring to Harshaw WI they lived in Minneapolis, MN, Brookfield, WI, Palmetto, FL, and Mount Washington, OH. Jack is survived by his wife, sons Jay (Jan Bilgen), Chris (Wendi Stelse), daughter Becky (Bruce Young), grandchildren Nick and Matt Craggs, Chris and Ella Young, sister-in-law Dawn Tait, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A graveside service for Jacks family is planned at the Union Grove Cemetery in Cassian, WI. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Cancer Society to further research into prevention and treatment are welcomed. The Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414) is serving the Craggs family.
