It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sylvia L Bartz in Hales Corners, Wisconsin, born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, who passed away on September 22, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Elmer Oscar Bartz; her parents, Olav Stenberg and Estelle Stenberg; her sister Joanne Pollack; her niece Debra Phillips; and her nephews, Roger Dean and Les Pollack.
She is survived by: the mothers of children, Gail Bartz Levin (Danny) and Valerie Joanne Peterson (Mark); her grandchildren, Christian Alexsander Peterson and Michelle Lenore Gates (Christopher); and her close friend Tommy W. Bowe.
She and her family started playing online Scrabble during Covid in 2020, and she was still playing Scrabble with her family (and won!) the week before she passed.
