He was loved and cherished by many people including: his sons, Thomas J. Burns and John P. Burns; his parents, John A. Burns and Esther Burns; his wife JoAnne M. Burns; his daughters, Sharon Burns and Mary Burns; his daughters-in-law, Barbara Burns and Cindy Burns; his grandchildren, John G. Burns, Monica Takacs, Jason Burns, Mary Catherine Ball, Nicole Burns Spiller and Ashley Burns O'Rourke; his great grandchildren, Madelyn, Maggie Ball, Jackson, Logan Burns, Ruby Burns, Silvie Spiller, Charles O'Rourke and Jenna Takacs; and his brother Michael Burns. He was also cherished by cousins, nieces, and nephew.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Deacon John's memory can be made to the Capuchin Community Services in Milwaukee, WI.
