He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice Herzfeld and Rellis Herzfeld; his brother John; and his niece Anna. He is survived by: his wife Susan; his children, Matthew (Melissa Lukasko) and Margaret (Dhrumil Patel); his brothers, Robert (Ann) and Mark (Patrice); and his nieces and nephews, Michael (Chris), David (Allison), Thomas (Rebecca), Kathryn Fugate (Daniel) and Benjamin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue in Mukwonago or Hales Corners Lutheran Church.
