He is survived by: his wife Marsha Firnges Hammer; his son Edward Hammer (Amber); his grandchildren, Vivian and Logan; his son Daniel Hammer (Courtney); his sisters, Lois Schmatzhagen and Carylee Hammer (Colette Thiel); his sister-in-law Debra Carson (William); his niece Dennel Meinzer (Roy); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Ashley Kurz (Rich), Brian Meinzer (Natalie), Nick Meinzer and Ben Meinzer; his nephew Michael Paschke (Julie); his great-nephews, Jake and Jared; his pet Millie; and also, Riley, Jaxon and Phoenyx.
