He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Ripley and Edna Ripley (Blackwell); and his parents-in-law, Virgil and Laverne Mehrkins. He is survived by: his wife Joan Mehrkins; his sons, Jay Ripley, Adam Ripley (Valerie), Jacob Ripley and Alex Elizabeth; his grandchildren, Cecily and Garnett Ripley; and his sister Beatrice Kizer.
