He is survived by: his wife Verna I. Zarnke of Greenwood; his children, Darla Abel (Scott) of Greenwood and Rick Birkett of North Haven, CT; his grandchildren, Brian Abel (Tara), Steven Abel, Eric Abel, Paul Abel, Brittan Buettner (Joe) and Elyse Birkett; his great grandchildren, Kai Abel, Roman Buettner, Noelle Buettner and Naomi Buettner; his sister Blanche Bollert of Kirkland, WA; and his sister-in-law Nancy Birkett of Burlington, WI. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
