He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Jane Hertz; his sisters, Barbara and June; and his parents, Peg and Clyde.

He is survived by: his children, Jean Juds (John), Michael Hertz and Phil Hertz (Bridgette); and his grandchildren, Brandon Juds, Samantha Rebholz-Hertz, Kayla Juds, Allison Hertz, Marissa Hertz, Jason Juds (Callie) and Ashley Lent (Jason).
