He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Ream and Paula Ream (Bedke); his sisters, Paula Ream and Judi Ream; and his dachshund George.

He is survived by: his wife Jan Kohon; his daughters, Janette Eichstadt (Jim) of Fairfax, IA, Jody Ream (Michelle) of Bonney Lake, WA and Robin Hynek (Dennis) of Chattanooga, TN; his grandchildren, Gage Michel Farmer, David Hynek, Kristin Tharp (Zach) and David Eichstadt; his great grandchildren, Asher and Levi Tharp; his siblings, Dennis Ream (Mary) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Diana Patrick (Wayne) of Toddville, IA, Joann Sears (Dave) of Scottsdale, AZ, Debbie Kimm (Steve) of Buckeye, AZ, Beverly Anderson (Larry) of Englewood, FL and Mary Ann Heuton of Loveland, CO; and his nieces and nephews, Jen Gravedoni (Phil), Brian Gardner (Wendy), Madeline, Everett Gravedoni and Ryder. He is also survived by other relatives and many dear friends.
