He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Wallenfang and Velda Wallenfang (Sommer); and his siblings, Clyde, Jerome, Joyce and Priscilla.

He is survived by: his wife Carletta "Letty" Cheney; and his children, Kimi (Bret Sandleback), Robin, Nolan, Ryan (Katie Sullivan) and Kevin (Laura). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
