He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Zimmerman and Elsie Zimmerman (Raddant); his wife Patricia Lewis; his siblings, Darwin and Judy; his sons, Daniel and Fred; and his close friend Pat Erler of Hemet, CA..

He is survived by: his son Bruce (Brenda); his grandchildren, Chris, Grant (Annie), Garrett (Laurie), Eric (Leslie), Stephen (Samantha) and Laura (Tyler); his daughter Carol Oelke (Keith); his grandchildren, Nicholas and Amanda; his daughter Melissa Stone; the mother of his children Lisa; his great grandchildren, Grace, Wyatt, Christian, Connor and Tomi; his siblings-in-law, Gloria Murphy of Morgan, Colleen Swenby, Howard Murphy and Paul Swenby; his close friends, Jackie Krajewski, Sandy, Harold DeMoulin of Green Bay and Chuck; his grandson Zak; and also Zachary. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
