She was predeceased by : her parents, Elmer VanEss and Mabel VanEss (Delveaux); her former life partner Edouard J. LaPlant; her parents-in-law, James and Cecilia LaPlant (Haevers); and her siblings-in-law, Sue Hoppock (John), Lynn LaPlant and Bill Barlament.

She is survived by : her husband John H. Berg; her children, Michael LaPlant (Linda), Narice Plumb (Dave), Dan LaPlant (Lori) and Kate LaPlant (Sean Eastman); her grandchildren, Stephanie Maxwell (Jayson), Jennifer Frietas (Mike), Christine Gerson (Dan), Becca LaPlant, Sara Plumb, Erin Plumb, Sawyer LaPlant, Eli LaPlant, Michael LaPlant, John Eastman and Jimmy Eastman; her great grandchildren, Ian, MyKayla, Nathan, Faith, Derrick and Autumn; her siblings, Neal VanEss, Joe VanEss (Clara), Jerry VanEss (Chris), Alan VanEss, Randy VanEss (Betty) and Jeanette Sink (Pete); and her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Barlament and Donna Tenor (Dave). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
