She was predeceased by: her significant other Ray; her brother John Sr.; her sister-in-law LaVonne Henry Pagel Sr.; and her nephew John Henry Pagel Jr.. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Care for All Ages, where Joan resided and received loving care for the last 15 years.
