He was predeceased by: his parents, August Bartels and Emma Bartels (Keuken); his siblings, Joe Bartels, Linda Krause, Rachel Kempf (Gordon), Edna Verhoven (Benedict), Bernice Verhoven (Sylvester) and John Bartels; and his in-laws, Marlene Drewiske and Janet Van Derven.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Van Derven; his children, Todd (Cathy) of New Berlin, Tony (Anita) of Columbus and Julie Hickmann (Mark) of Kiel; and his in-laws, Rosemary Bartels, Jerry Drewiske and Tom Van Derven. He is also survived by seven granddaughters and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory (305 N 10th St, De Pere, WI 54115). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
