He was predeceased by: his parents, Correl W. Mommaerts and Marjorie L. Mommaerts (Rathburn); his siblings, Mark and Kathleen Seanego; his nephew Steven Mommaerts; and his grandparents, Edwin, Mary Mommaerts, F. Orval and Marie Rathburn.
He is survived by: his siblings, Craig Mommaerts (Annette), Carol McEwing (Bruce), Christopher Mommaerts (Miwako), Therese Hoagland and Scott Mommaerts; his nieces and nephews, Shane Mommaerts, Robert Mommaerts, Joshua Mommaerts, Julie Mommaerts, Jacob McEwing, Taylor Nielsen (Karyn), Taran Nielsen, AJ Hoagland, Sash Hoagland, Garret Mommaerts and Haley Haas; and his close friend Mary Lade.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Nativity of Our Lord Parish (2270 S Oneida St, Green Bay, WI 54304). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
Throughout his career, Bruce received numerous awards and recognitions for his contributions to economic development and community service. His accolades include the Frederick C. Pearce Award from the Wisconsin Economic Development Association (WEDA) for individual contributions to the field of economic development in 2011, and multiple awards from the Mid America Economic Development Council (MAEDC) Development Awards Competition, including Best of State, Best of Show, Superior, Best of Class, and Excellent from 1992 to 1996.
