He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Netzel and Meta Netzel (Malueg); and his grandmother Dora Malueg. He is survived by: his spouses, Rochelle (Schuettpelz) and Shelley; his children, Tina Netzel-Hoerres (Dave), Julie Netzel, Andrew Netzel (Diane) and Philip Netzel (Amanda); his grandchildren, Nicholas Netzel (Crystal Roche), Adam Hoerres (Trista Hietpas), Eric Erb (Jennifer Lee), Adam Erb, Blake Erb (Shelbie Nox Mattingly), Crystal Romenesko (Phil) and Ryan Smith (Brittany); and his siblings, Kathryn Westphal (Stanley), Mary Jakl (William) and William Netzel (Nancy). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Mike's name to the Greenville Lion's Park is being established.
