He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernst Otto and Lauretta Otto; his cousin James Rutz; and his friend Jim Steinke. He is survived by: his wife Susan Rhyner; his sons, Thomas (Stephanie Schuelke), Timothy (Candace) and Kurt (Kristi); and his grandchildren, Zachary, Jonathan, Jacob, Michael (Bridget) and Cady.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to EGFT (St. Paul Lutheran School Building Fund).
