She was predeceased by: her father Bob Slaymaker. She is survived by: her husband Bob Steckel; her children, Luke Steckel (Katie), Heidi Steckel (Dylan Hanneman) and Toby Steckel (Madison Barker); her grandchild Theo Steckel; her mother Betty Slaymaker; and her sisters, Dana Sharer (Steve) and Nancy Smith (Steve). She is also survived by many loving mother, brother and sister in-laws, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and good friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Pilgrim United Church of Christ, Southern Poverty Law Teaching Center or the American Cancer Society are appreciated.
