He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Mentzel and Evelyn Mentzel; his granddaughter Isabelle Mentzel; and his father-in-law Wallace Pergande. He is survived by: his wife Annette; his children, Timothy Mentzel (Julia) of Grafton, Bryan Mentzel (Lauri) of Grafton, Kristin Melnick (Chad) of Sussex and Lori Marien (Bob) of West Bend; his grandchildren, Taylor Mentzel (Fiancé Michael), Tyce Mentzel, Livia Mentzel, Alex Mentzel, Sarah Mentzel, Magnolia Melnick, Arlo Melnick, Trevor Marien, Tanner Marien and Carter Marien; his siblings, Carol Kempke of Waukesha, Helen Lewis (Pat) of Montana and Robert Mentzel (Barb) of Oklahoma; his mother-in-law Lillian Pergande of Grafton; and his siblings-in-law, Ellen Tolzman (Mike) of Cedarburg and Jan Pergande (Tammie) of Cedarburg. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
