It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley M. Mertz of Gordon, Wisconsin, born in Superior, Wisconsin, who passed away on March 13, 2021, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Senja Hill and John Hill; her husband Kenneth; and her siblings, Elna Aho, Eileen Mac, Wally Hill, Edwin Hill, Armos Toya and Benhart Toya.
She is survived by: her children, Sonja Lamppa (Steven), Kenneth Mertz (Pamela) and Terriann Carlson (Brad); her grandchildren, Craig Nelson, Keith Nelson, Lucas Mertz (Lindsay), Kendra Mertz (Chris Rogers), Andrea Vlaminck (Joel), Delia Durfee (Ryan), Reece Lamppa, John Carlson (Kristina) and Jenny Romosz (Garret); her sister Lillian Lange; and her sister-in-law Irene Haugen (Brad). She is also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A private family funeral will be held with immediate family due to COVID restrictions and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
