He is survived by: his wife Imogene Thompson; his son Brian of Glidden; his grandchildren, Maggie (Matthew Podrez) and Evan Heinlein; his daughter-in-law Carol Heinlein; and his sisters, Donna Schmidt (Melvin) and Ruth Maier of Glidden.
