He is survived by: his spouse Mary Charlotte Lundy; his parents, William Berends and Mary Berends; his siblings, Ralph Berends, Harriet Erickson (Roy), Mary Lou Palewicz (Bob), Alice Kaiser (Ed) and Duane Berends; his children, William Berends and David Berends; his grandson Joseph Berends; his son-in-law Charles Hudson; his children, Thomas Berends (Nancy) of Downing, John Berends (Kathleen) of New Richmond, Elizabeth Hudson of New Richmond, Kathleen Hansen of New Richmond, Ann Bruggeman (Byron) of River Falls, Peter Berends (Catherine) of Parker, CO and Robert Berends of New Richmond; his daughter-in-law Judith Berends of New Richmond; his stepchildren, Douglas Rasmussen (Sylvie) of France, Sharon Kahler (Steven) of Emerald, Susan McKeever (Richard) of Stillwater and Gayla Hanson (Daniel) of Eleva; his sister-in-law Rachel Berends; and also Barbara Berends. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
