He is survived by: his mother Citana Schwochert (Rohde); and his siblings, Mark Schwochert, Matt Schwochert (Sheryl), Julie Verhage (Jim), Linda Brisson and Mary Nelson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

“I am so sorry to hear about Roy! He was "Doc" to me. We had music in common, jammed together in Madison. The last time I'd heard from him was the end of August. I sent him a Christmas card, realized I hadn't heard from him in a while, and found out he'd died. Very sad! He was one of the good guys!! Very sorry for your loss.”
