He was predeceased by: his parents, Roland McDowell and Edna Coopman (Ruege); his stepfather Charles Coopman; his son James; his brother John McDowell; and his siblings-in-law, Donna Schultz and Marvin Quandt.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Quandt; his children, Rhonda Ropella, Brenda Kadlec (Jeff), Mark McDowell (Lisa) and Michael McDowell (Vickie); his grandchildren, Ryan, Travis, Tara, Rachel Van Boxtel (Andy), Nicole, Adam (Tina), Andrew Kadlec (Miranda), Ashley Tilley (Nathan), Michael McDowell (Ashley), Taylor Vandehei (Anthony) and Emily Konitzer; his great grandchildren, Carter, Kiley, Cayden, Carley, Ella, Leah, Tanner, Blake, Maci, Mariah, Malayha, Makenzi, Madisen, Olivia, Ava and Gavin; and his siblings-in-law, RoJean Quandt, Phyllis McDowell and Donald Schultz. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
