Jean M. (Wilterdink) Mahnke Obituary

Of Germantown, passed peacefully on June 30, 2024, at the age of 93 years. Jean was born in Sheboygan on January 04, 1931, a daughter of Harvey and Jeanette (nee Wynveen) Wilterdink. During her working years, Jean was a Word Processing Specialist and Executive Secretary at an Engineering Firm. During retirement Jean proudly volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House and enjoyed her work there so much she continued to volunteer for over 11 years. She married the love of her life, Richard Mahnke on September 30, 1950. Skiing in the winter with family and friends was a favorite sport of Jeans. Known as the "cookie grandma" she loved baking cookies for her children and grandchildren at every holiday. Her greatest joy was her family and the many memories they shared together.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Jill (Richard) Kurimsky and Janis East; grandchildren, Emily (Brian) Tam and Evan (Hannah) East; great-grandchildren, Ella and Graydon Tam; sister Edith Zahn; sister-in-law Helen Wilterdink; and brother-in-law, Glenn Mahnke. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; son-in-law, Joe East; parents; brother, Richard Wilterdink; brother-in-law Wayne Mahnke; and sisters-in-law, Marie and Shirley Mahnke.
