James Reynold Kiepert Obituary
James Reynold "Jim" Kiepert, age 85, of Germantown, Wis passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, under the care of his family. He was born on February 19, 1939 in Milwaukee, the son of Raymond and Verona Kiepert and brother to Raymond Kiepert, who proceeded him in death. Jim was united in marriage to his best friend and loving wife, Barbara (Peters) for 63 happy years. He is survived by his children, Mark (Kathy) Kiepert and Kari (Dan) Harrington. Jim was also a devoted grandpa who cherished seeing his grandsons Hunter and Cody Harrington thrive and grow. A graduate of Rufus King High School, Jim was all-city doubles champion and took third in state on his high school tennis team. He entered the United States army during the Berlin Wall crisis and, after serving his country in the army (2 years) and the reserve (4 years), worked as a Plant Superintendent at Hentzen Coatings until he retired after 42 years. Jim enjoyed family visits, musky fishing, planting trees, and feeding deer at his cabin in Eagle River. He was also an avid gardener and a sports fan who loved attending Badgers football games in Madison as a decades-long season ticket holder. A visitation will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, W172N11187 Division Rd, Germantown, Wis on Tuesday, August 6. Visitation will take place in the church from 11:00 a.m. until noon, followed by a service at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Faith Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society. The family would like to give its warmest thanks to the Aurora Cancer Clinic in Germantown, especially Jim's dedicated and professional hospice caregivers, Jill, Marcie, and Marie (love you). We will always carry Jim in our hearts.
